Frequently Asked Questions

Hotelito Oso — One Room. One Key. One Very Different Stay.

Q: What time is check-in?

A: Officially, check-in is guaranteed by 3:00 PM. If somehow your suite isn’t ready by then, we’ll gladly point you toward margaritas next door at Sharky’s Cantina until it is. Consider it our version of island problem-solving.

Q: What time is checkout?

A: 12:01 PM. Why? Because we wanted the latest checkout on Martha’s Vineyard, and because “noon” felt too ordinary for a one-room hotel.

Q: Is Hotelito Oso really just one room?

A: Yes. One room. One key. That’s the whole point. No elevators full of strangers. No hallways. No awkward breakfast buffets. Just your own private hideaway above downtown Oak Bluffs.

Q: Where is Hotelito Oso located?

A: Directly above Oso on iconic Circuit Avenue — steps from Ocean Park, ferries, beaches, shopping, cocktails, live music, and probably at least one questionable decision.

Q: Is there parking?

A: Parking in downtown Oak Bluffs is a little like finding religion — possible, but easier if you prepare ahead of time. Limited prearranged parking may be available. Ask early. Very early.

Q: Can I shop downstairs at Oso after hours?

A: Technically? Sort of. If you see something in the boutique window that suddenly becomes essential to your happiness, text the concierge. If available, it may magically appear in your room like fashionable room service.

Do you allow children?

Hotelito Oso was designed more for romantic escapes, spontaneous getaways, and people who enjoy sleeping past 6 AM.

Q: Is there a front desk?

A: No front desk. No lobby. No corporate scripts. Just real humans and surprisingly fast text responses.

Q: Are pets allowed?

A: We love animals. We also love not replacing very expensive bedding every week. Ask us first.

Q: Is the room quiet?

A: You are staying above downtown Oak Bluffs in the middle of the action. Most nights you’ll hear distant music, laughter, and the sound of people making summer memories. Absolute silence is available seasonally in Nebraska.

Q: Do you have room service?

A: Not officially. But you’re surrounded by some of the best food, cocktails, coffee, and takeout on Martha’s Vineyard within a two-minute walk, which honestly feels better than room service anyway.

Q: Why create a one-room hotel?

A: Because bigger isn’t always better. Because the world already has enough giant hotels. Because exclusivity is underrated. Because somebody had to do it.

Q: What happens if somebody else books the room first?

A: Then the hotel is sold out. Completely. Every room taken. All one of them.
